QUALITY BENEFITS

Engineered for Life,
Designed for Luxury

Tile installation is both an art and a craft. It requires precision, experience, and an eye for detail. Done right, a tile floor can last decades while looking as good as the day it was installed.

Waterproof

Tile makes sense for homeowners who want flooring that can handle anything life throws at it. It's completely waterproof, making it the natural choice for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and mudrooms. Spills, splashes, and humidity don't faze tile the way they can damage hardwood or laminate.

Durability

Tile resists scratches, dents, stains, and fading better than virtually any other flooring material. High-quality porcelain tile can handle heavy furniture, foot traffic, pet claws, and dropped objects without showing wear. For busy households or commercial spaces, that kind of toughness matters.

Design Flexibility

Choose from thousands of colors, patterns, sizes, and finishes. Want the look of marble without the maintenance? Porcelain tile replicates it beautifully. Prefer colorful Mediterranean patterns or sleek modern subway tile? It's all available. You can create custom layouts, borders, and inlays that give your space a one-of-a-kind look.

Climate-Appropriate

For Denver-area homes, tile performs exceptionally well. It doesn't expand or contract with temperature changes, handles our dry climate without issues, and stays cool in summer heat. Pair it with radiant floor heating, and tile becomes comfortable year-round.

Healthy & Hypoallergenic

Tile is also one of the healthiest flooring options. It doesn't harbor allergens, dust mites, or pet dander the way carpet can. It doesn't off-gas VOCs like some vinyl products. Clean it with simple soap and water, and you've got a hygienic surface that's safe for families with allergies or sensitivities.

Types of Tile We Install

Understanding your tile options helps you make the right choice for your project. We help you select the right tile type based on where it's going, how it'll be used, and what look you're after.

Ceramic

The most affordable tile option and works well for walls and light-to-moderate floor traffic. It's made from clay fired at high temperatures, then glazed for color and protection. Ceramic works great for bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, and residential floors that won't see heavy use.

Porcelain

Fired at higher temperatures and often has color throughout the entire tile body. This makes it ideal for high-traffic areas, commercial spaces, and outdoor applications. Porcelain can mimic natural stone, wood, concrete, or fabric with remarkable realism. It's also less porous than ceramic, making it even more water-resistant.

Natural Stone

Each piece is unique, with natural variation in color and veining that gives spaces organic beauty. Stone requires more maintenance than porcelain or ceramic (periodic sealing, careful cleaning), but many homeowners love its authentic look and feel. We help you understand the care requirements before you commit to stone.

Specialty Tile

Glass tile works beautifully for backsplashes and accent areas, reflecting light and adding visual interest. Specialty tiles include metal, cement, and decorative options that create focal points and artistic statements.

Our Installation Process

Tile installation is detail-intensive work that separates professional results from amateur attempts. We've developed our process over 10 years and hundreds of installations.

01

Subfloor Evaluation

Tile needs a stable, level surface. We check for structural issues, level uneven areas, and ensure the substrate can support the weight of tile and mortar. For wood subfloors, we often install cement board underlayment that prevents flex and provides a proper bonding surface.

02

Layout Planning

This is where experience really matters. We determine where to start, how to center patterns, where cut tiles should go (ideally in less visible areas), and how to handle transitions and thresholds. Good planning prevents awkward cuts and ensures the finished floor looks intentional and balanced.

03

Setting & Grouting

We maintain consistent grout lines using spacers, check level constantly, and work in sections to ensure the mortar doesn't set before tiles are placed. Cutting tiles to fit around obstacles, corners, and edges requires the right tools and a steady hand.

After the tile sets (usually 24-48 hours), we apply grout. Grout color and width make a huge difference in the final appearance. We help you choose grout that complements your tile and design goals. We apply grout carefully, clean excess thoroughly, and seal it to protect against staining and moisture.

Tile Patterns & Layouts

The pattern you choose affects the entire feel of a space. Here are some popular options:

Straight Lay

Simplest pattern, with tiles in aligned rows. It's clean and classic, especially with large-format tiles.

Diagonal

Rotates the straight lay 45 degrees, adding visual interest and making small spaces feel larger.

Running Bond

offsets each row by half a tile, like a brick wall. Works well with rectangular subway tiles.

Herringbone

Sophisticated and dynamic. Requires more labor delivers a premium look.

Basketweave

Alternates horizontal and vertical tile pairs for a woven appearance.

Versailles

Combines different tile sizes in a complex pattern popular with natural stone.

Grout Selection

Grout does more than fill gaps between tiles. It affects appearance, maintenance, and longevity.

Grout comes in sanded and unsanded varieties. Sanded grout is for wider joints (1/8" and up) and provides strength. Unsanded grout works for narrow joints and delicate tiles that sanding might scratch.

Color choices range from white to black and everything in between. Contrasting grout makes the tile pattern prominent. Matching grout creates a more seamless, unified look.

Epoxy grout costs more but offers superior stain resistance and durability. It's worth considering for kitchens and high-use areas. Standard cement-based grout works fine for most applications when properly sealed.

Maintainence and Care

Tile is low-maintenance, but a little care keeps it looking great. With basic care, tile floors last 20-50 years or more. It's one of the best long-term investments in flooring.

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit. Mop with warm water and mild cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage grout.

Reseal grout lines every 1-2 years. Natural stone needs periodic sealing too. The process is simple and makes your floor last.

Address grout cracks or damage promptly. Small repairs prevent water from reaching the substrate and causing bigger problems.

For natural stone, use pH-neutral cleaners designed specifically for stone. Acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products) can etch.
